The transition from one place to another didn't happen overnight. Today, I will tell you the story of Ramón Puig in the guayabera shirts market.

The Story of a Family

The best guayaberas in Miami and the world began their journey in 1943 with a physical store in Cuba, where Mr. Ramón Puig started a journey that is still ongoing.

From a young age, Ramón Puig had the vision of being a tailor, dedicating his entire life to perfecting the guayabera, the traditional Cuban garment, and internationalizing it for global consumption.

Cuba eventually became too small for Mr. Puig, and in the famous "flights of freedom" in 1970, he decided to settle in Miami, creating the House of Guayaberas at 5840 SW 8th St in Miami, next to the Versailles restaurant.

This branch exclusively sells the best guayaberas in Miami and remains active to this day.

Puig's project in this new location focused on the guayabera shirt as a symbol of elegance in the warm climates of Miami. Thanks to this strategy and the versatility of a new product in the USA, the House of Guayaberas has remained in the market for over 70 years.

It is worth noting that there was a temporary closure of the store due to the isolation caused by COVID-19, which contributed to the global economic crisis. 

However, the only guayabera store in Miami was able to reopen its doors to continue offering the best guayaberas.

Currently, after the passing of Ramón Puig in 2011, his son Louis Puig continues the family business with the passion transmitted by his father. 

Speaking about the House of Guayaberas, Louis was interviewed by the New Herald and stated that the store "for me and for my children, will continue until the end."

Currently, our physical store is in the same location as 70 years ago: 5840 SW 8th St in Miami. Open from Monday to Saturday (10 am - 6 pm) and Sunday (10 am - 4 pm).
